Here you can learn more about what it was like to be a fisherman in Norway in the past. The museum is built as a small fishing village with residential houses, fishermen's huts, a trans-canning factory, a mechanical workshop and a large collection of boats. It shows local coastal culture, working life and living conditions from around 1850. Exhibition about the multi-artist Kurt Schwitters and the "Die große Merz" column on Hjertøy Square. There is also a nice nature trail through the island's landscape, which starts at the houses of the Fisheries Museum.
