Island hopping by bike

Leave your car parked for free at Molde Vandrerhjem and use your bike to visit the islands of Oterøya, Aukra, Orten, Sandøya, Finnøya and Ona.

Molde Vandrerhjem is a good starting point for island hopping by bike. If you arrive at the hostel in the evening, after a good breakfast you can take your bike and head west. Here you can take the ferry to Oterøya, continue towards Harøya, Ona and return via Sandøya, Orten, Aukra and back to the hostel. This is too long a trip for one day, but then both Harøya and Ona offer good accommodation options.

This trip provides great nature experiences and you gain insight into small communities where people have found many non-traditional livelihoods.

Back at the hostel, the car, a good bed and another good breakfast await.
